Sliding Window / July 18, 2018 / Marguerite Mathieu
To save on energy one can choose a doubleglazed window (which uses two panels of glass). The layer between the two glasses acts as an insulator to save the heat in the room. Depending on how much privacy and safety is required in the area where you live you may opt for fortified or screened windows. But above all its your budget that will have a final say on how your windows will look. There are benefits and drawbacks of each kind of window. Lets look at some of them:
Windows are a very important part of our kitchen. While remodeling a kitchen people plan more about other things like increasing the room or how to save some money on energy etc. but we forget how important it is to plan the windows in your kitchen. Actually windows are most important part of any room. They help in free flow of fresh air in and out of the room. But for kitchen it becomes vital as due to so many gases produced in kitchen we need proper flow of fresh air inside the kitchen room. The best are the sliding doors for kitchen. These are the best for many reasons especially in a house where there are kids.
Sliding window locks are often called vent locks as they allow the window to be locked slightly open for ventilation. The recommended gap is 100mm but never have more than 150mm. The theory is that if a head can get through a window a person can squeeze through. The venting position is not as secure as when the window is shut and locked. Therefore you should only leave your windows locked open you are at home.
