Many new sliding windows have key locking latches already installed. Some allow the window to be locked slightly open for ventilation. If your home has these window locks they are usually secure enough to keep your insurance company happy. If your home has only a simple nonlocking latch you should secure them with a keylocking sliding window lock or a window grill. Installing window locks yourself will cost AUD$15$20 per window. Having these locks supplied and installed by a locksmith will cost $40$50 per window.
The sliding frames are apt for homes and offices that have large open spaces. They can be used at areas that use 23 panels and you can thus opt for the stylish sliding door that may open up to the balcony or to the garden. In case your office or home is at a higher lever then you can choose sliding window that can give you a beautiful view and can enhance the look of your home.
You will have to gently raise the unit and slide the same in support brackets. Just mark a point where the unit hits the window. Now raise the window and attach the foam strip all along the line properly. If required just attach the extensions on the side wall by using the wood screws. If necessary attach the extensions on the side wall using wood screws. Perform application blocking. Perform application blocking up o the point where air conditioner comes in contact with window. This step will ensure proper sealing and would prevent any cold air from escaping.
To install sliding window locks you need the following tools: Sliding windows can be lifted to varying degrees within their track. If you are using the venting position it is a good idea to fit something in the track to stop the window from being lifted. Small blocks of wood or plastic or just a screw can be used. If fitted correctly this can make the window a lot more secure especially when locking the window in the open position.
