Sliding Window / July 25, 2018 / Marguerite Mathieu
Sliding window locks are often called vent locks as they allow the window to be locked slightly open for ventilation. The recommended gap is 100mm but never have more than 150mm. The theory is that if a head can get through a window a person can squeeze through. The venting position is not as secure as when the window is shut and locked. Therefore you should only leave your windows locked open you are at home.
Casement Windows. Open all the way outward hence allow maximum light and air. Energy efficient because they shut tight. Can be glazed to save energy. Easy to use as a simple crank mechanism is used. Disabled people can operate them easily. Cleaning is easy therefore ideal for installing behind sinks and countertops. Allows for quick and easy emergency escapes. Remove The Windows. You can easily remove the windows by sliding it open past the lift blocks and then placing your hands on either side of the window and lifting it out of its track. You can then remove the window towards you. Do the same with the other window and place them in a safe area. Proceed With The Washing. Wash them using a window cleaning solution and a nonlint cloth. Make sure to thoroughly clean the glass and remove any stains that you will find. Start from the upper left corner of your window glass and proceed downward using an Sshaped motion for wiping the window.
