To install sliding window locks you need the following tools: Sliding windows can be lifted to varying degrees within their track. If you are using the venting position it is a good idea to fit something in the track to stop the window from being lifted. Small blocks of wood or plastic or just a screw can be used. If fitted correctly this can make the window a lot more secure especially when locking the window in the open position.
The sliding frames are apt for homes and offices that have large open spaces. They can be used at areas that use 23 panels and you can thus opt for the stylish sliding door that may open up to the balcony or to the garden. In case your office or home is at a higher lever then you can choose sliding window that can give you a beautiful view and can enhance the look of your home.
Sliding window locks are often called vent locks as they allow the window to be locked slightly open for ventilation. The recommended gap is 100mm but never have more than 150mm. The theory is that if a head can get through a window a person can squeeze through. The venting position is not as secure as when the window is shut and locked. Therefore you should only leave your windows locked open you are at home.
Next you need to install the head rail. Just like the lower track the pivot brackets must be a few inches from the wall. Sometimes you may need more than one track to cover a room. This also allows the window panels to be stacked upon each other. If you want to add an additional valance to the mix make sure you use one that is deigned for that window panel. Otherwise it will not fit correctly.
